Outreach has had a very busy year. We continue to provide monthly breakfast bags to Crescent Heights School students. The Lydia Quilters have been busy quilt making and fundraising for Reset. The Sunday Pre-Service coffee hosts have continued to provide a hot cup of tea or coffee to all those in need. Plans are in place for organizing the float for the Pride Parade.
Crescent Heights High School
We continue to provide CHHS with monthly breakfast bags, bus tickets, and hygiene kits. We have also donated a bag of beautiful toques knitted by Nancy Minato. As always, donations for bus tickets, lunch bags or hygiene kits are always gratefully accepted.
Lydia Quilters
The Lydia Quilters meet every Wednesday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. They create beautiful quilts that are sold as a means of fundraising for RESET (formerly Servants Anonymous).Every spring the Lydia Quilters Group help to collect books for the annual book sale, that RESET hosts at the Crossroads Farmers Market. On Saturday, November 16, 2019, we held the 12th Annual Holiday Fair at Wild Rose United Church. All proceeds from the sale was donated to RESET and will be used for Educational Scholarships.
Christmas Downtown at the Core Shopping Centre
In November we were excited to take part in "Christmas at the Core". A group of Wild Rose members got together to decorate a Christmas Tree at the Core. The tree was on display for a couple of weeks in the Core Shopping Centre, before it was giving to a family in need. It was our pleasure to take part in such a fun event, and to know that we made Christmas a bit more special for those in need.
