Wild Rose United Church Land Acknowledgement
We gather today in Mohkinstsis, on Treaty 7 territory, the traditional and ongoing home of the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Tsuut’ina, and Stoney Nakoda Nations.
We give thanks for this land and for the many generations of Indigenous peoples who have cared for it, lived on it, and continue to call it home.
We also recognize the painful history between Indigenous peoples and the church and the work that remains for us to do. Reconciliation is more than words. It asks us to listen, to learn, to build relationships, and to keep showing up.
As we gather as a community, may we do so with open hearts, respect, and a willingness to learn from one another.
We are grateful to be here, and we honour those whose land we share.
